5 Steps To Properly Utilize Your Content Slider
There’s a tool we have in our solution called the content slider. If you want to get the attention of visitors at your store without much hassle, this is the tool you should use. However, there are a few points you should take note of to ensure that you make the best of this nifty feature.
Display Good Quality Images
Since the content slider uses visuals to catch the attention of visitors, you should use good quality product images for your slides.
These images need not be of HD quality. They just need to be appealing to viewers. Blurry images are a big put-off.
Include A Call To Action
Every single element on your store should be geared to persuading visitors to make a purchase or carry out a positive action such as subscribing to your newsletter.
Never just leave a product photo by itself. There is no utility in that. This only adds color to your store but not much else.
Instead, state the name of the product clearly, then add a call to action, e.g. “Buy NOW & Save 30%”, “Click Here To Buy & Enjoy Free Shipping” or “Click Here For More Color Options”.
Link To Page
Now that you’ve got the attention of your potential customers, make it convenient for them to make a purchase by linking the slide directly to the product page. This way, if they see something they like, they can get to it in just one click.
Don’t Display Too Many Slides
Try not to get too carried away by adding too many slides to your sliders because most online shoppers are quite impatient. Carefully plan what products or promotions you want to display on your sliders and then place 3 to 6 slides per slider. The first slide on any slider should display the most important product or promotion you’d like to make known.
For your main page slider, you can opt to display New Products, On Sale Products, Best Buy Products, Popular Products or a feature like Free Shipping. For sliders on your category pages, select a few “hot” products to display. You could also include the Free Shipping slide as a reminder.
Location, Location, Location
Lastly, you want to place your sliders at the most strategic area of the page so it catches the attention of visitors immediately. This area is none other than the top content section of the page.
